Machine Overview

Thanks to its wide range of energy and forge capability, MTI’s 480S Rotary Friction Welder is the most commonly used inertia machine in the aeroengine manufacturing industry.  Every aerospace company in the world that uses Inertia Friction Welding for aerospace components has at least one of MTI’s 480S Friction Welding machines. The machine design has been optimized over decades of production and delivers un-paralleled performance and repeatability. The machine is designed to be extremely rigid enabling high tolerances and positional repeatability to be obtained while also able to sustain and dampen harmonics generated during the weld cycle.

MTI is Nadcap-accredited, ISO 9001 certified, AS9100 Registered, ITAR compliant,  and has been a trusted partner to aerospace companies for decades.
