How Direct Drive Friction Welders Work

Unlike inertia welding, which stores energy in a flywheel, the direct drive process continuously adds energy from the motor throughout the weld cycle. This allows the parts to receive the heat needed at the joint’s center, supporting a high-quality weld across the full interface.
